"The Disabled Traveler non-profit” is being discontinued due to lack of interest from major corporations. The goal was to secure funding from major corporations that would have had an interest in marketing and promoting the accessible features of the national parks worldwide. This population consists of people with disabilities and/or age related difficulties consisting of millions of people worth billions of dollars worldwide. Getting back to nature is proving to be a major health benefit also. We appreciate the support we received from many people worldwide and the individual national parks who wanted to be on our website. There was no interest from the State of Michigan or Pure Michigan concerning funding for the accessible attractions for this market but we do thank the Cleveland Clinic and the University of Michigan for their support.
